Covered Creep Box
The immediate environment is essential for the mortality the first days of life.
Many studies show that low body temperature 1-2 hours after birth presents a significant risk to survival rate, due to body cooling and less colostrum intake. Pigs with body temperatures at 34 degrees use 50% more energy than pigs at 38 degrees. Piglets can die from body cooling, and with the increased litter size and lower birth weight, there is a need for a good immediate environment. One way to improve the immediate environment at farrowing is using the covered creep box.
